Welcome to Roppongi

Aaron and I arrived Wed evening jet lagged and excited for the adventures ahead.  We were told to take a taxi to Roppongi where we would be living.  Little did we know the taxi ride was 40+ minutes away and would cost 200+ dollars! HA.  Needless to say, the taxi driver was very nice and got us to our new home safely without understanding any english.

When we arrived we were greeted by a nice Japanese woman who gave us all the necessary information then accompanied us to our room.  She proceeded to take off her shoes and show us around.  Not much showing needed.  In just about 10 steps you can get across the room :)  You walk through the door, through the mini kitchen, and into the bedroom in about 5 steps.  Everything is quite convenient.  At first Aaron's face was priceless.  Not sure he expected such a tiny place.  But I have to say, I just love it!  Living with less stuff is so nice!  We will see if Im still saying that in 3 months when Im sick of all my clothes. Ha.  I think Aaron would say his favorite part of the place is the toilets.  Heated seats, all sorts of cleaning options...basically all you could ask for in a toilet.  He wants one in our house someday!

My first day of work was awesome and all a blur at the same time.  I had to go to work the day after arriving.  Aaron and I woke up at 4am--wide awake.  We decided to go for a run.  Might as well do something if we are going to be awake.  We happened to run upon a beautiful park--probably one of the coolest i've ever been too.  Ponds full of fish with bridges and so much green everywhere.   We heard some music so Aaron's like, "Run to the music!"

We happened upon a gathering of mostly elderly people ready for their morning stretch/warm-up routine.  Music plays at 6am and the people gather and do a small exercise routine.  It is priceless.  So we did it every day since we've been here.

Apple offices are on the 40th floor of Mori Tower.  Needless to say the views are spectacular.  Everyone sits in rows along long tables with their iMacs.  I feel like I'm working at a bank again.  The tower is full of incredible restaurants and shops.  The team took me to Sushi on my first day.  I didn't know Japanese sushi comes with wasabi inside it! That was a surprise.  It was delicious.

Here are some pics of our adventures so far!  Stay tuned for more...
